| Name: | Pietro Rossi | ||||||||||
| Bio: | PLAYER Name/Alias: Heather Age: 21 Contact Info: blah Time Zone: east CHARACTER: Name: Pietro Rossi Age: 17 D.O.B.: August 5th Blood Type: AB+ Race: Human Physical Description: Pietro has rather obvious Italian features. His skin is a natural tanned color and his hair is a very dark brown, usually hanging in his eyes, which perfectly matches his eyes. His nose is a little larger than most, directly contrasting to his height (5’9”). He’s skinny, perhaps even a little underweight. He had an angled jaw and lovely shaped lips into a sort of perfect cupid’s bow. He has a lot of different scars all over his body – like his palm has a spiral mark from a stovetop burn, his wrists have several scars that look mistakenly like suicide attempts. He is missing the very tip of his tongue. He generally wears clothes that are at least a size too big and look kind of shabby despite his status as having money. They’re always long sleeved, long legged to hide the ever present shin and forearm guards that he constantly wears to protect those areas from accidental injury. He’s thought about getting things pierced and tattooed just because he wouldn’t feel it but decided against it since he wouldn’t be able to feel the pain of infection either. Personality: Because of certain issues, Pietro has problems connecting to people. He doesn’t really have the same social norms as other people. He’s used to being completely suppressed and left out of everything. He constantly feels like he’s worthless and defective. He purposely keeps himself from trying new things just because his parents would freak out if they knew and he just doesn’t want to deal with it. Typically, he’s that guy in the back of the class that just sleeps and no one really knows his name. If he just opened up a little and didn’t constantly feel sorry for himself, he’d be a pretty friendly and pleasant guy to be around. He really likes music and playing video games on his computer of crazy doom. In fact, when he isn’t sleeping, he’s playing video games. All the time. He has a fairly good sense of humor when he decides to show it but that’s not very often at all. At least, not often because he hasn’t really talked to people. Although he does recognize people, he doesn’t know their names and just calls them strange things in his head. (Example: Bunny is Twitch.) The only ones who see any sort of emotion happen to be his family and then they don’t want to see it. That’s his anger. He’s always angry at his parents because they desperately want to put him in a padded room or suit so he can never hurt himself and in the end, he does it just to spite them, hurt them because he can’t feel pain. He hates his family because they treat him like some fragile doll. Sexuality: Undecided, never really had a crush. History: Angelo and Michelle were born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. They met in college while Angelo was studying business and Michelle was studying cardiology. Now, Angelo didn’t really have to study business – he was going to inherit the rather successful Rossi Electronics company anyhow. (Currently, they are doing very well producing things to save energy like solar panels and bits for electric cars.) But he wanted to do the family business some good. He and Michelle met and wooed over the span of six years before getting married and settling down. When Pietro was born, nothing really seemed amiss with him. Not at first anyway. But then a series of strange events occurred... Like when he was teething and chewed on his fingers and lips to the point of near mutilation. Pietro didn’t even cry. He hadn’t felt a thing. Only the strange red stuff coming out of him had bothered him any. After some tests, they realized that their son had a condition called Congenital Insensitivity to Pain – he couldn’t feel pain at all and had difficulty telling the difference between temperatures. The doctors assured his parents that it could be worse. They weren’t entirely certain how, especially when he tripped and accidentally bit off the tip of his tongue at one point. So began a life of constant vigilance and not being allowed to do the things other kids did – having to look weird with guards on his arms and legs and wearing swimming goggles all the time. His parents hadn’t wanted to let him go to public school but he had insisted and his doctors said there would be no harm in it as long as those around him were careful. Unfortunately, all his protection made the kids tease him and he quickly grew into a shell that he didn’t want to leave. Other than a few incidents including a nasty burn on a stovetop and several broken bones over the years, he grew up fairly normally. Sure, he wasn’t allowed to do all the things other kids did and he got teased but that was nothing new. It wasn’t until high school that anything changed for him. That was when he got his first real friends – a group that he hung with that all seemed to be outcasts of some kind. They seemed like good kids and they’d take him to places to have fun instead of just watching on the sidelines. They were very careful. However, in his sophomore year... He was learning to skateboard and took a rather nasty spill over a railing, breaking his arm bad enough that the bone was sticking out of the skin. His parents freaked of course and he was forbidden to see those kids ever again, ripped from school... but while he was in the hospital, they visited. One of them made the stupid suggestion of him ‘hurting himself’ to get back at them when ever they pissed him off. It wasn’t like it would hurt after all. In that year, which he was home schooled, he ended up in the hospital more often than any other time because he actually took the advice. He’d almost died on a couple of occasions and got stuck in therapy. But he never revealed the idea source for his actions. Last year, his parents decided that a change of scenery would be good for Pietro. They moved to Scarlet Oak as Angelo could work very easily from home. Being ripped away from his home town and even further away from the few kids he actually had grown to like, his shell slammed up around him like an iron fortress. Michelle decided to risk public school again since she was very busy working in the hospital again. Instead of another incident like before, Pietro took to sleeping in every single class. He was that one kid that always had his head down, blocking everything out. And if he wasn’t in class, he had a laptop out and was playing video games. Needless to say, he failed every single one of his classes. He blames it on statistics – he says has “like a 50% chance of reaching age 40. Why bother.” Not exactly right but he won’t listen to any corrections. Since the Light of May: Absolutely nothing has changed for Pietro, beyond his parents freaking out and worrying that all the crazy creatures are going to hurt their son or that he’s going to go off and feed the vamps since he wouldn’t feel anything... Special Skills/Abilities: Mad video game skills, very good rhythm, speaks conversational Italian, fine judger of pillows, a little skateboarding, eating until he pukes, poking things with sticks, fine catcher of frogs and worms and other slimy critters, guitar. Personal Weaknesses: Congenital insensitivity to pain: Pietro has never and will never feel pain. He has difficulty telling temperatures apart so can’t tell anyone when something is hot or cold. It has made him emotionally distant and he constantly has to take time to check himself for wounds that might have mysteriously appeared – every single day, multiple times. Emotional detachment: He has a hard time connecting to most people since they seem to be ready and willing to put themselves in harms way and he’s constantly told he can’t. Thusly, he honestly thinks he just can’t. He’s not even allowed to run in gym because he might do something to his muscles or sprain an ankle and not feel it. This is actually also a symptom of his CIP, a rather mild form of mental retardation. Most people don’t even realize the term applies to him as he is otherwise entirely normal. Anger & Self-Harm: He uses self-harm to punish his family since he can’t feel it when ever he gets extremely frustrated with them. It always lands him in the hospital and he’s pretty much always in therapy of some sort. He hasn’t done it in awhile though. Lack of Will: He has absolutely no will to get anything done anymore. After being ripped from what little social life he did have rather unwillingly, he lost all his desire and will. He failed every single one of his classes this previous school year and is being held back because of it. Personal Strengths: CIP: Although it’s his biggest weakness, some day not feeling pain may come in handy with all the supernatural creatures around. You never know. Family: Michelle Rossi (Mother), Angelo Rossi (Father), Zita Rossi (Sister, 16) Living Conditions: He lives in a newer and fairly large house with his parents and younger sister. Career/Job: None. He’s got money. Preferred PB: Luke Pasqualino | ||||||||||
